'Serious illness' claims the life of Fiat Chrysler boss, Sergio Marchionne. The new Audi Q3 has officially been unveiled featuring a muscular and striking new design. Not that anyone was asking, Mercedes-AMG installs more fury into the C63 S range. China-only A-Class Sedan is in fact coming to the rest of the world.

The Audi Q3 has officially been unveiled

Audi’s right-sized compact SUV is back looking bolder than ever for its modest dimensions. You can thank muscular haunches, striking metallic paint and a chiselled frontal aspect for its new-found sharp aesthetic. Underneath, Ingolstadt’s modular transverse matric shared with Wolfsburg makes for an adaptable platform that favours dynamic driving. We approve of the update, but hope the Q3 has what it takes to fight in a very competitive segment.

Are you sick of hearing people complaining about how under-powered AMGs are? No, we haven’t heard anyone complain either, but that hasn’t stopped Affalterbach going on the offensive with even more menacing V8 beasties. You can now have the regular C63 with 350kW and 650Nm or the S with 375kW and 700Nm and as you can see in the image attached, body styles include sedan, coupe, estate and convertible iterations.

Remember that China-only A-Class Sedan?

Well as we predicted earlier this year, it’s coming to the rest of the world despite the curvier CLA already being a thing that exists in the world. Point of distinction? I guess this one is for your dad. Interestingly this is the slipperier one, more aerodynamic in fact than any other production car in the world. Mercedes-Benz, you're weird.

Two models are confirmed thus far, the A200 (with 120 kW and 250 Nm) with 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission plus an A180d (85 kW/260 Nm) also with 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission. I don’t know. I think I still prefer the slipperier (looking) CLA.

Dimensions (or the numbers that really matter) look like this:

Length/width/height4549/1796/1446 mm
Wheelbase2729 mm
Boot Capacity420 litres
Headroom front/rear1024/944 mm
Elbow room front/rear1457/1446 mm
Shoulder room front/rear1400/1372 mm
Legroom front/rear1062/861 mm

Rest in Peace Sergio Marchionne
